He was predeceased by: his wife Mary McBain (Dimeo); his son Scott McBain; his siblings, Ian McBain (late Dorothy) and Mayme Rolland (Ray); and his parents, Peter McBain and Constance McBain (Brooks).

He is survived by: his children, Alexander McBain of Apple Hill, Shawn McBain of Apple Hill, Laurie McBain-Raymond (Lee) of Apple Hill and Margery McBain of Apple Hill; and his grandchildren, Gareth, Maguire Raymond and Logan McBain. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
