He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Oakes and Ruth Oakes; and his brother Brian. He is survived by: his children, Gordon (Elizabeth) and Natalie (Ryan Whyte); his grandchildren, Chayse and Lucas; and his siblings, Roger (Tedye), Dale (Al Pottruff), Herb (Sandy), Wray (Colleen), Janice (Dave Dyment) and Mark.
