He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest and Francis; and his brothers, Leonard and Maurice. He is survived by: his wife Pauline (Bezaire); his children, Kevin Lucier (Anna) and Karen Hill (Bob); his siblings, Delores (Mark) and Jerry (Mary-Anne); his foster siblings, Veronica (Andy) and Harlan; and his grandchildren, Jordan, Connor, Evan and Liam.
Memorial tributes in Vern's honor may be made to St. Joseph Church or the Canadian Lung Association.
