He was predeceased by: his parents, Anita and Virgil; and his siblings, David, Susan Taylor (Ken), Dan (MaryLou), Tim (Seng), Annette Stoehr (Wayne), Patrick, Beth Wiese (Chris Belcher) and Cathy (Jennifer). He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his love of sports, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, which helps enrich the lives of kids in need through sport and physical activity.
