She was predeceased by: her husband George W. F. McCurdy; her mother Helen Thompson; her stepfather Joseph "Shawnee" Jones; her father Peter Thompson; her brother Lloyd Thompson; her children, Frederick McCurdy, Anna Marie Fleming and Dr. Lauren "Loli" Irene Dickie; and her grandsons, George W. McCurdy, Bruce Kelly McCurdy, Kito McCurdy and Akili Mason.

She is survived by: her sister Ada Milburn; and her children, Marilee Beth Mason of Detroit, Barry Christian McCurdy (Persy) of Mississauga and Douglas Donald Peter McCurdy (Marguerite) of Aurora. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
