She is also survived by her extended family and friends.

“Mrs. Dontigny was one of my cherished teachers at SDHS. She was supportive, kind, enthusiastic, encouraging. When I was around 16, she, Mrs. Fawcett, and Mrs. Clark challenged me to a two mile run ( they were always trying to get me to quit smoking and to do more PT. I started training, couldn't do 200 metres. I did quit, I left for college and became athletic. It was great to see her at the Redcrest golf league years later. What a wonderful person and inspirational teacher! H. Schellhorn.”
