“I always smile when I think of Mr. Henderson. As a student I fondly remember him as Happy Harold Henderson, our PRINCIPAL, at Cookstown Central Public School. His large stature could be intimidating to a student misbehaving but certainly we all knew he was a gentle giant. Always kind, caring, respectful and interested in who we were as individuals because he wanted us to be successful in life. I was very shy yet he always took the time to acknowledge my strengths thus giving me the confidence and courage to move in a positive direction in life. He never veered from his passion as an educator and, I don't know how, but always remembered his students even as adults. Thank you Mr. Henderson. You will be greatly missed but always, always remembered. Sincerely, Marie Miller (Thomas)”
