He was predeceased by: his parents, Glynn Rains and Sarah Rains of St. Joseph Island. He is survived by: his children, Gary Rains (Gail), Dawna Garber, Sandra Hett (Bill) and Cheryl Nobel (Robert); his grandchildren, Cameron Gover (Sue), Greg Rains (Sarah), Stephanie Andrews (Chris), Michelle Stankovic (Tim), David Garber (Jocelyn), Bryan Garber, Thomas Hett, Sarah Klawiter, Amy Klawiter and Owen Nobel; his great grandchildren, Jackson Gover, Carter Andrews, Quinn Andrews, Emily Stankovic, Brooklyn Stankovic and Gabriel Stankovic; his siblings, Roberta Boyer (late Claude), Orrell Rains (late Emilie) and Clara Jean LaPlante (late Ron); and his siblings-in-law, Elsie Stevens (late Harold), Jean Gallagher (late Bud) and Fred Kent (Joy).
