He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucien Poirier and Jeanne Poirier; and his children, Stéphane (Josée) and Isabelle. He is survived by: his wife Gisèle Poirier; his son Sylvain Poirier (Patricia); his grandchildren, Étienne, Catherine, Mikaël, Charles and Frédérique; and his siblings, Madeleine Girard (André) and Gabriel (Deanna).
