It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beautiful Mother, Joan Margaret (Stewart) Bankley , who passed away on February 11 2023 at the age of 78. Joan will be dearly missed by her children, Lori Wensink (Bruce) of Martintown, Lisa Lukan (Randy) of Okotoks Alberta, Tracy Bankley- Morris (Frank) of Alexandria Ontario, Stewart Bankley (Julianne) of Russell Ontario, Norman Bankley and Tara Bankley. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Shawna (Jean-Luc), Nathan (Jennifer), Kristen (Tom), Devon (Sarah-Jean), Carleigh (Marty), Daniel, Zachary (Olivia), Joshua (Heather), Jordan, Rebecca, Oliver (Kim), Noah (Courtney), William (Samantha), Matthew (Yanira), Andrew (Santanna), Veronica, Alex, Olivia (Samuel), Elise, Magdaleine and Simon. She was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren. Caleb, Gabrielle, Isabella, Emma, Henri, Makenna, Margaret, Simon, Benjamin, Oliver, Camilla, and Nolan, Noah and Avrahm. Joan's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world.

Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Norman Charles Bankley. Joan was born and educated in Montreal. She studied education and was a kindergarten teacher. Later Norman, Joan and Family moved to Maxville Ontario. Joan was a life-long learner and loved to read her mystery novels. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, brother and sister- in- law whom she loved dearly. Her deep sense of kindness and genuine interest and compassion for others drew people to her. Joan's passion for life and love for others will continue to inspire her children and grandchildren. She was a beautiful lady.

A sincere thank to the Doctors and Nurses at the Cornwall Community Hospital for their exceptional care in the last few days of Joan's life.

A celebration of her life and service will be held in the Springtime.

Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., Alexandria, Ontario, 613-525-2772. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the Children's Aid Society, P.O. Box 983, Cornwall, Ontario, K6H 5V1, would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Joan a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
