He was predeceased by: his parents, René Poirier and Marie-Louise Lalonde; his siblings, Eugène, André (Suzanne), Michel, Carole Paquette (Claude) and Denise Psanis; and also Robert Décoste (Rosaire).

He is survived by: his spouse Suzanne'Sue'Poirier; his children, Jérémie (Émilie Dumoulin) and Kevin; his siblings, Françoise Villeneuve (late Bernard), Robert, Pierrette (late Pierre Jacques) and Thérèse Renaud (Richard); and also, Guillaume Décoste (Linda), Roxane Ménard (Michel), Denis Décoste (Lise) and Dianne Larocque (Pierre). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
