He was predeceased by : his parents, René Poirier and Marie-Louise Lalonde; his siblings, Eugène, André (Suzanne), Michel, Carole Paquette (Claude) and Denise Psanis; and also Robert Décoste (Rosaire).

He is survived by : his spouse Suzanne'Sue'Poirier; his children, Jérémie (Émilie Dumoulin) and Kevin; his siblings, Françoise Villeneuve (late Bernard), Robert, Pierrette (late Pierre Jacques) and Thérèse Renaud (Richard); and also, Guillaume Décoste (Linda), Roxane Ménard (Michel), Denis Décoste (Lise) and Dianne Larocque (Pierre). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 6th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd. - Alexandria Branch (114 Main St S, Alexandria, ON K0C1A0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Finnan's Basilica (72 St Paul St, Alexandria, ON K0C1A0).
