Donald Joseph MacPhee Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Edward and Mary Frances MacPhee; and his brother John James MacPhee (late Alison) of Ottawa. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Beth Barrans of Kanata; and his siblings, Marian McDonald (late Eddy) of Michigan, Catherine Olive Defreitas (Roger) of Long Sault, Madeline, Zweep (Hans) of Ingleside and Lucy McIntosh (late Donald) of St. Andrews. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Donald was a founding member of the Glengarry Strathspey and Reel Society; he was inducted into the Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame in 2004; he also taught the Celtic fiddle two nights a week at the Glengarry District High School for 40 years before the pandemic.

Memorial Donations to the Celtic Music Hall of Fame, Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Ottawa Civic Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
