She was predeceased by: her husband Gerhard Karl; her parents, Alexander Fred Hambleton and Annie Janet MacCosham; her mother-in-law Irmgard Blankenau; and her siblings, George "Mac" (Marlene), Eileen (Leslie), Ethel (Irwin) and Wendy (Harry).
She is survived by: her children, Peter Karl (Shilo), Roxanna Brooks (William) and Stephen Karl (Catherine); her grandchildren, Brennan (Catherine), Damian (Darcy), Alicia, Pieter, Keira and Erin; and her caregivers, Emily and Paramed.
