He was predeceased by: his spouse Henny Nekkers. He is survived by: his children, Sharon, Alex and Michael; his sister Surinder (Parminder); and his sister-in-law Parkash. He is also survived by cousins, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Sadly, later that year Manjit was given a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.
