He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Alfred and Elva June; and his sister Audrey May. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his daughters, Susan Elbertsen, Julie Kish (Peter Kish) and Linda Taylor (Robert Sands); his grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Jeffrey, Maxine, Talia, Trevor and Colin; and his great grandchildren, Corrie-Ann, Orion, Avery and Rosie.
In 1993 and again in 2002, he was awarded Commemorative Medals, given to Canadians who made significant contributions to their fellow citizens, their community, or Canada.
