He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joanne; his parents, George Bourner and Enid Bourner; his sister Alison Scanlon; his niece Jodi (Rohan); his nephew Eric; and his aunts, Freda and Phyllis (Uncle Robin). He was also cherished by extended family with cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McEachnie Funeral Home (28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, ON L1T1Z7). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Christ Church (81 Hillcroft St, Oshawa, ON L1G2L3).

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Society in David's memory will be appreciated by the family.
