Bill Hines wrote a sympathy message

“My deepest condolences to Steves family. We spent years working together, usually 2 weeks at a time at some seismic camp in the high arctic, with Wardair in Yellowknife. Then followed the same procedure on Max’s big airplanes. Only now the time away was in far more pleasurable locations. Steve was a professional and a perfectionist. Most of his time on the jets was as a training Captain, both simulator and line training. He always trained to a high standard. I will miss his mentoring.”

Phyllis Bertin wrote a sympathy message

“So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My sister, Terry, loved him since High School and together they had two lovely boys. Unfortunately, they both predeceased him. It was sad indeed. Steve had a wonderful career as pilot for Max Ward, starting as a bush pilot with him, and later as Wardair's Head Pilot. He flew all over the world for various Airlines, but ended up flying small planes back in Yellowknife. Rest in Peace, Steve . . .”
