“I’m saddened to learn that David passed & want to extend condolences to his friends & family. I met David in the fall of last year and quickly grew to enjoy our meetings very much. He asked about my travels in Nunavut and he spoke often of his home and family. David had a very big heart and always knew how to make people laugh. Despite the pain he carried, he always found humour. His dry, sarcastic wit and kind & sensitive heart carved a special place in my memory for him. Thinking of you all.”

“I just learned of David's passing & want to extend my heartfelt sympathies to his loved ones. I met David in Yellowknife over 16 years ago, shortly before the arrival of his son, for whom I knitted a sweater & a "silly-looking" hat (as David called it.) We crossed paths again in Calgary in the last 6 months & I spent some time with him only days before his passing as he called home to speak to his Dad. Life for him was not easy these last months but he never lost his gentleness & big heart.”
