She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Boyd and Lura Mae Boyd (Murphy); and her brother Bill Boyd. She is survived by: her husband Gerald M. Nickerson; her children, Toni Fitzgerald (Charles), Gary Giles (Darlene), Michael Giles, Peggy Muise (Tom), Cindy Hamm (Peter), Bobby Nickerson (Shirley), Steve Nickerson (Crystal), Pam Sandford (Mike), Joel Nickerson and Paula Messervey (Paul); and her brother George Boyd (Gwen). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
