He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence "Larry" and Celia Gertridge (Helsby). He is survived by: his wife Shilah (MacKay); his children, Paul "Darren" MacKay Gertridge (Lisa) of Tillsonburg, ON and Adrienne White (Scott); his brother Johnny Gertridge; and his grandchildren, Rachel White, Angus Gertridge and Amber Meyer.

Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Multiple Myeloma) or Valley Hospice Foundation.
