He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clifford Mitton and Eva Logan Mitton; his wife Marguerite; his brother Donald; his children, Ronald (Susan) of Halifax and Ruth (Robert Clish) of Halifax; his grandchildren, Julia Mitton and John Mitton (Heather Moffatt); his great grandchild Benjamin John Mitton; and his friend Harold. He was also cherished by three nephews and a niece.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Acadia Divinity College or to a charity of choice.
