He was predeceased by: his parents, Rennie Underwood and Tingey; his grandparents, Owen and Lorena Underwood; and his aunts and uncles, Phyllis Williams, Vivian Oliver, Louis, Owen and Theodore Underwood.

He is survived by: his sons, Gary Underwood (Michelle) and Corrie Beaton; his stepchildren, Ed MacDonald and Melissa Benjamin; his grandchildren, Lukas, Grayson, Alexis Underwood, Caelum, Kitara Benjamin and Brandon MacDonald; and his siblings, Ann Parks (Laverne), Avondale, Reid Harvey (Scotts Bay), Robert Harvey (Avondale), William Harvey (Alberta), Jamie Harvey (Alberta), Bob Tingey of Manitoba and Alice Bugg of Manitoba.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Garnet's life will be announced at a later date.
