He was predeceased by: his parents, George McCarthy and Jessie McCarthy (Harmon); and his siblings, Gordon "Gordie", George, Emerson, Arthur, Cecil, Henry, Marina "Diddie", Jennie, Esther and Gladys.
He is survived by: his sisters, Frances, Una and Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
