He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Wessell and Princetta Wessell (Crouse); and his brothers, Chester, Maxwell and Kenneth.

He is survived by: his wife Pauline A. Kempton; his sister Beatrice (Andrew Ernst); his niece Sherry; and his pets, Brutus, Trapper, Rebel, Roxie and Chance.
