It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Sloat (Wileville, Nova Scotia), born in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard and Ruby (Barteaux); his wife Diane (Washburn); his stepfather Robert Gillingham; his stepbrother Charles Gillingham; and his siblings-in-law, Audrey Magee, Larry Washburn, Owen Washburn and Doug Magee.

He is survived by: his children, Theodore of Grand Prairie, AL, Willis of Piney, MB and Kathleen (Abdel) of Cole Harbour, NS; his grandchildren, Tehya and Jonah of Cole Harbour, NS.; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Dryden (Robert) of Saint John, NB, Jean Washburn of Wirral, NB, Sheila Washburn of St. Andrew's, NB and David Washburn (Anna) of Wirral, NB.; and his nephew David Magee (Lisa) of Smiths Falls, ON.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In memory of Charles, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cornwall and District Fire Department.
