He was predeceased by: his parents, J. P. MacInnis and Viola MacInnis (Wellwood); and his brothers-in-law, Robert and Roddie. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his children, Annette (Bruno), Jennifer (Gary) and Jamie (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Myles (Cathy), Kelsey, Molly (Ryan), Rhylyn, Anthony and Ben; his great grandchild Jet; his siblings, Frank (Verda) and Beatrice; and his brother-in-law Brian (Pat). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice Society of Victoria County.
