It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lisa Marie Toney of Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia, born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Dennis Francis and Marguerite Toney (Chickie); and her sisters, Sandra and Denise. She is survived by: her common-law partner Maurice Bernard; her children, Kayla Bernard (We'koqm'aq), Randy Bernard (Adrienne), Pictou Landing, Owen Bernard, Lindon Bernard and We'koqm'aq; her granddaughter Maven Bernard; her siblings, Shannon Toney, We'koqm'aq, Tammy Toney, Joseph Toney and Pictou Landing; her nieces and nephews, Kendra, Emily, Brian, Austin and Shawn Jij; her great-nephew Kingston; her godchildren, Alyssa, Jace, Aly, Kallie "Owen", Kendra, Sierra, Kayce, Jeremy and Kennedy; her aunts and uncles, Barbara Prosper, Ann Francis (Muise), Linda Francis, Donald Francis, John Francis and Allen Francis; her brother Darryl Toney; and her godparents, Alice Mae Francis and Floyd Bernard.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Kateri Parish (9081 NS-105, Whycocomagh, NS 2).
