She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bernard and Annie Mae Bernard (Sylliboy); her children, Carl David, John A. Bernard and Nicolila Bernard; her grandchildren, Cassidy Bernard and Carlyle; and her brothers, Frederick, Lawrence "Lunch", Walter, Alan, Chuckie and Peter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mona Denny (Alonzo) of We'koqma'q, Gina Poulette (Maynard) of We'koqma'q and Madonna Bernard of We'koqma'q; her siblings, Ducy Paul (Bob) and John Wayne Bernard (We'koqma'q); and her godchildren, Freddie Bernard, Frederick Young, Warren Brooks, Linda Bernard and Lindsay Bernard. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the We'Koqma'Q Community Centre (15 Reservation Rd, Whycocomagh, NS B0E3M0). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blessed St. Kateri Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (9081 NS-105, Whycocomagh, NS 2).
