It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard James Googoo (Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia), who passed away on February 13, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Grand Chief Gabriel Sylliboy; his wife Phyllis Jean; his children, Linda (Bobby), Dodd and Louie (Muriel); his grandchildren, Cassandra, Dakota, Avery, Dmitri, Storm, Lucinda, Robbi, Victoria, Lyndon and Shane; his sisters, Barbara Matheson, Bridget Marshall and Matilda Koopman; his godchildren, Herman Young, Harriet Nicholas, Sunshine Bernard, Michael Paul, Lillian Googoo, Vivian Googoo, Christopher Sealy, Roddie Paul, Mary Florence Bernard and Chuckie Peck; his close friend Joe Mike; his parents, Michael and Ellen; his siblings, William, Gabriel, Ryan J, Alex R, Stanley, Mary B, Germaine, Michael, Janet, Wayne, Henry and Donald; and his godson Sheldon Googoo Sr.. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
