He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Oliver and Winnifred Oliver; and his siblings, Robert, Edith, Marjorie, Janie and Mary.

He is survived by: his siblings, Percy Oliver and Faith Peckham; his wife Vivian Fleming; his children, Evelyn (Allie), John (Debbie) and Roger (Shawna); his grandchildren, Robbie, Colin, Clarie, Steven, Matthew, Kyle, Jacob, Sam, Jason Wadden and Jackie Oliver; and his friends, Myrna Jordan and Kathy Spears.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital or to the Pictou County SPCA.
