He was predeceased by: his son David Allan; and his siblings, Ruth and Chesley (Chet). He is survived by: his parents, Russell Canning and Dorothy Canning (Chisholm); his wife Charlene (MacKinnon); his son Christopher; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher and Sage; his godchildren, Rose and Matthew; his sons, Dan and Rob; and his siblings, Jack (Pamela), Russell, Clayton (Donna), Donald (Susan), Cathy Van Den (John) and Mary Jane Marcott (Louis). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great and great-grand nieces and nephews.
