He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gillin and Caroline Gillin; his brother Carmon; and his parents-in-law, Albert and Nellie Oldford.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia (Oldford); his children, Jane Muir and Jeff Gillin (Lori); his sister Florence Cameron; his aunt Ida Hutt; his grandchildren, Adam, Liam, Ryan Muir (Brianna), Zachary (Cassidy), Chris and Ella Gillin; and his great grandchildren, London and Lydia Gillin.
