He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett MacNeil and Beatrice MacNeil; his brother Peter; and his stepchildren, Al Ryan and Alanna Ryan.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his children, Michael (Brenda), Peter (Bethany), Gloria Wooldridge (Brad) and Gaylene Weavers (Ross); his sister Catherine Peters (Joe); and also Hyun Hee Ryan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
