He was predeceased by: his parents, William Purdy and Kathleen Purdy (Gould); and his siblings, Donald, Lester and Gail Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Purdy (Gullon); his children, Patricia, Andrew and Arden (Lisa Porteous); his grandchildren, Robi-Lynn MacInnis, Ryan MacInnis, Abella Purdy and Adleigh Purdy; and his brothers, Terry and Kirk (Janice).
Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
