He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Gammell and Mona Gammell (Kindervater); his siblings, Terence, Calvin, Gordon, Beverly, Elizabeth and Dorothy; and his brothers-in-law, Bill, Dave and Kennard.

He is survived by: his close friend Glenda; his sons, Shane (Amanda), Brian and Matthew (Domi); his sisters, Shirley, Frances, Martha and Wanda; and his siblings-in-law, Alvin, Victor, Nancy and Jane. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
