She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Brown and Jenny (Dean); her siblings, Ina, Evelyn, Lewis, James, Laura, Lester, Donald, Phyllis, Daniel and Wayne; her husband Leon A. W. Cox; her sons, Leon, Leonard, Jerry and Bobby; her children-in-law, Ruth (Creelman) and Leonard Dean; her grandchildren, Jamie Duncan and Curtis Cox; and her great grandchild Tanisha Peterson.

She is survived by: her siblings, Wilbur, Jacqueline, Carol and Stewart; and her daughter-in-law Joyce. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
