He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Fisher); his children, Matthew Jr. (Barbara), Mary Jane and Andrew (Samantha); his grandchildren, Danielle, Brenden, Aislin Marie and Ava Elizabeth; his brothers, Adam (Betty) and George (Katherine); his nephew Alexander; and his nieces, Christina, Elsbeth and Joanna.
Matthew's body has been donated to Department of Medical Neuroscience Dalhousie University.
