He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurie Burris and Jeannie Burris (McBean); his daughter-in-law Colleen Burris; his brother-in-law Allison McIver; and his parents-in-law, Howard and Jean Wadden.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Burris; his children, Lindsay Wallace (Andrew) and Laurie Burris; his grandchildren, Hayley, Liam, Aubrey and Adley; and his sisters, Sheena McIver and Moira Cherrett (Jerry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
