With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Burns Acker (Truro, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 13, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Thomas Burns leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Thomas Burns Acker and Eleanor Acker (Grew); his wife Jessie (MacVicar); and his brother Bill. He is survived by: his daughters, Eleanor Acker (Charlie), Margaret Rovers (Christopher) and Bedford; and his granddaughter Rachel.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First United Church (711 Prince St, Truro, NS B2N1G7). A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery (3720 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3L).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colchester-East Hants Hospice Society, Colchester East Hants Public Library, Little White Schoolhouse Museum, or First United Church (Truro).
