He was predeceased by: his parents, William Young and Ethel Young; his wife Elizabeth May; and his granddaughter Loni. He is survived by: his children, Sharon (Bill), Robin (Richard), Pamela (Lance) and Gregory (Lucie); and his brother Bill. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
