He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Blackburn and Mae Blackburn (Goldie); his wife June (MacCallum); his grandson Mark Fisher; and his siblings, Eric Blackburn (Molly), Evelyn Newman (Harold), James Blackburn (Marilyn), Bill Blackburn (Hazel), Lorna Waterfield and Catherine Woolley.

He is survived by: his children, Heather (David), Masstown, Andrew Blackburn (Jane) and Clifton; his granddaughter Leigh Fisher (Aaron Black); his great grandchild Wrenly Black (River John); and his granddaughter Gillian Blackburn (Nick Tonet). He is also survived by many nieces and, nephews.
