He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gauthier and Ida Gauthier (Shepherd); his sons, John Gauthier and Brian; and his siblings, Jack Gauthier (Ellie), Arthur Gauthier (Anne), Raymond Gauthier, Vivian Gauthier, Jeanne (Ted) and Gourley.

He is survived by: his significant other Lillian Corkum; his children, Lisa "Bobbie" Gauthier-Sweller (David Sweller), Colorado, Nicole Gauthier and Tanya Gauthier (Dale McNutt); his significant other's children, Penny Corkum (David Findlay) and Ken Corkum (Margaret Gray); his grandchildren, Danielle, Lauryn, Allison, Tyler and Derek; and his brother Nelson Gauthier.
