He was predeceased by: his parents, Hartley Weatherby and Margaret Weatherby (Rutherford); his parents-in-law, Morris and Ella Newell; and his siblings-in-law, John Smith, Robert Newell, Roy Newell, Allan Newell and Opal Newell.
He is survived by: his wife Joan (Smith); his children, Sharon and Stephen (Zoe); his granddaughter Hailey Lemmon; his stepgrandchildren, Michelle Staples (George) and Jamie Staples (Laura); his son-in-law Gerry Lemmon (Angie); his siblings-in-law, Eric Newell (Thelma), Joan Smith, Donna Newell-Stewart (John), Sheila Newell (Lawrence) and Laurie Clyke; his cousins, Gerry and Carolyn Newell; his friends, Cathy Anderson, Larry and Minnie O'Hara; and his pet Oakley. He is also survived by seven step-great-grandchildren.
