He was predeceased by: his significant other Mary Sutherland; his parents, Ada Newton and James Albert Newton; and his stepson John Sutherland. He is survived by: his sons, James Stanley Newton and Gordon Allen Newton-Nilsen; his stepsons, Charles "Bob" Sutherland (Linda), Ronald Sutherland and Donald Sutherland (Evelyn); and his former wife Lorna. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
