She was predeceased by: her parents, Rayburn and Helen (Langille); her husband Carson Ainslie Dewar; her son Randy; and her siblings, Rufus Staples, Leona Pye (Burton), Murray Staples and Dexter Staples.
She is survived by: her sons, Glenn (Susan) and Bruce (Tracey); her grandchildren, Philip, Lisa, Brock and Nicholas; and her friend Roy Fisher. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Varner Funeral Home (55 Young St, Truro, NS B2N3W6).
If so desired, donations in Etta's memory to a, charity of choice are welcomed.
