He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Harb and Josephine Harb (MacKay). He is survived by: his wife Frances (Fraser); his children, John Charles Jr. (Marit Baldwin) and Connie Diane Burke (Michael Jamieson) of Abercrombie; his grandchildren, David Mitchell Burke and Sarah Jean Burke; his siblings, Wayne (Marcella) of Stellarton, Shirley Zahara, Alberta, Connie Durbes of Weymouth, Mass. and Zeana Macleod of Abercrombie; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Harb of Trenton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
