He was predeceased by: his father Rupert Boyles; his wife Eva; and his siblings, Allen, Lawrence, Philip, Frank, Harry, Charles, Clifford, Walter, Benjamin, Freeman, Douglas, Alex and Eva Gertridge.
He is survived by: his children, Eva Nichols, Ron MacDonnell (Bev), Theresa Doyle (Tom), Cecilia Stroder (Mike), Robert MacDonnell (Susan), Kevin MacDonnell (Sharon), Sandra DeGruchy (Reg), John MacDonnell, Paul MacDonnell (Georgina), Karen MacDonnell (John) and Brian MacDonnell (Gail). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
