He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Rector and Ann Jean Rector (Auld); his former wives, Nora Edith (MacDonald) and Grace Rector (Goodwin); his children, Bobby and Marlene Mason; his siblings, Alexina Marshall, Mary MacAulay, Bessie Munroe, Dolina Rector, John, Jimmy, Norman and Danny Rector; his sisters-in-law, Vivian Wright, Thelma Mancini and Eva Richard; his stepson-in-law Craig Gallant; and his brother-in-law Kenny MacDonald.

He is survived by: his son-in-law Randy Mason; his children, Lois Dunbar, Judy Richards (Ivan), Karen Barkhouse (Kenny), Chrissie Brandt (Mike), Bill Rector (Bernadette) and Ron Rector; his siblings-in-law, Mona Rector, Shirley Rector, Fred Wright, Lawrence Richard Ronald MacDonald (Lois) and Shirley MacDonald; his grandchildren, Jamie Mason (Trina), Shari Easthope (Rick), Brad Richards (Lee), Timothy Richards (Tameral), Joey Richard (Lisa), Steve Dunbar (Kelly Jarvis), Kimberly Barkhouse (Ian MacLaren), Kris Barkhouse (Jes), Joe Brandt (Cindy), Amanda Fraser (Allan) and Allan Rector; and also, Andy Goodwin (Sandy Malloy), Susan Gallant, Dave Goodwin (Trina), Michael Goodwin (Alisha), Peter Goodwin (Lori), Laurel Goodwin (Bernie MacDonald) and Rhona Hubley (Ken). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
