She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Bennett and Mary Jane Bennett (Penney); her husband Neville; her brothers, Benjamin 'Benny', William 'Bill' and Allan 'Allie'; and her sisters-in-law, Sharon and Alice Bennett.

She is survived by: her children, Richard King (Helen) and Deborah Miller (Steve); her siblings, Garfield of Glace Bay, Gerry of Glace Bay, Mike (Marcella) of Glace Bay, Leo of Glace Bay, Gloria Bennett and Ann Long (Charlie) of Sydney; her grandchildren, Jessica and Spencer Miller; and her cousin Olga Flynn of Glace Bay. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County or to a charity of choice.
