Steve Yakemchuck Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Yakemchuck of Sydney, Nova Scotia, born in Trois-Rivières, Québec, who passed away on April 27, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marco Yakemchuck and Annie Yakemchuck (Cherlca); his siblings, Helen, Ida, Eva, Mary and Archie; and his wife Vernalda Blackie (Josephine Sophocleous).

He is survived by: his children, Carol Keough (Bob), Shirley Yakemchuck, Connie Skinner (Scott), Nancy Mailman (Kevin), David Yakemchuck and Joe Sophocleous (Arlene); his granddaughters, Amber Mailman, Lindsay and Tammy Sophocleous; and also, Joanne, Greg, Jimmy, David and Florence Yakemchuck. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation or service for the late Roger Yakemchuck at this time.
